Hello, pretty ladies! I’m back yet with another review on Colourpop Cosmetics which are the lippie pencils. As y’all know, Colourpop is my favourite brand but that doesn’t mean my review on their product is biased. I can assure you that my reviews are always honest and unbiased. So, back to our topic. I haven’t tried Colourpop’s lippie pencil before. Thus, I decided to give it a try. I purchased two shades to go with the lipsticks I currently own. The price is USD 5 each (which is about RM20). You can preorder them from Instagram sellers to save the shipping fee from USA or make a purchase worth USD50 to get free global shipping from Colourpop. First one is a pure red and the other one is a bright pink. Well, these shades descriptions are my own. The product and shade description from Colourpop’s website is as below.
Product Description: Create clean lines and prevent feathering disasters with our long-wearing and super pigmented lip liner designed to be worn under your fave matching lip colour.
Shade description as below
- Bossy: Pure red
- Trixie: Bright coral pink
Packaging: As you all know, most of the Colourpop products packaging are white. Same goes to their lippie pencils. It’s a pencil type lip liner that requires sharpening. The pencil is made of plastic. The tip of the pencil shows the shade of the lippie pencil so its easy to distinguish between shades without opening the cover and peeking inside.
Product and Impressions: The lippie pencils shades were great for me. I have many lipsticks in the shade of red and pink. Thus, these two shades suited most of my lipsticks well. The lippie pencils are matte formula. It was so easy to apply and outlining the shape of my lip with this lippie pencil was so easy as well. The application was smooth, glides well on my lips and didn’t smudge. It’s definitely suitable for lip contouring. It really did bring out the shape of my lips and I absolutely loved it. The shades are also super pigmented thus, the application was effortless. Sharpening of the lippie pencils was also effortless. But always make sure your lip pencil sharpener is exact size of the lippie pencil. If not, the sharpening will take up too much product, causing wastage. The application gets a little rough when the lippie pencil is not sharp and also the pigmentation is poor. Do not forcefully apply the liner on your lips when it’s not sharp because the application gets all messy, less pigmented and it breaks. It’s super annoying to have a broken lip liner.
Finish: Matte and not drying.
Longevity and Touch ups: Lasted more 12 hours and did not fade. It didn’t require reapplication unless you are eating heavy and oily meal.
Verdict: I will buy them again. The quality, pigmentation and application is so so good for a super reasonable price of USD5. So, I’ll purchase them again 😊
